Dr. Vélez is a highly experienced dental professional with more than 30 years of clinical expertise spanning general adult and pediatric dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1994, following a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Vélez has served diverse patient populations across Kentucky, Florida and Texas working in private practice, military and public health settings. Her extensive locum tenens experience, including educational service with Concorde Career College's Hygiene Program and various Texas practices, reflects her adaptability and commitment to providing quality, compassionate care in a wide range of clinical environments.
Dr. Vélez’s background also includes distinguished service as a General Dentist in the United States Air Force at MacDill Air Force Base and as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss. In these roles, she honed her clinical, leadership, and mentoring skills, overseeing dental staff, conducting health and safety training, and guiding emerging dental professionals.
Her comprehensive skill set includes restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, and pediatric procedures. She has designed and implemented clinical systems to improve operational efficiency, supervised dental teams, and ensured compliance with occupational safety standards.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Vélez is dedicated to patient-centered care and community wellness. Her professional philosophy centers on education, prevention, and building trust through clear communication and clinical excellence.
